Once you have your fancy new account, you'll probably want to login. That's easy! Just go to the login page (always available from the link at the top-right corner of the site), or just use the username/password fields at the bottom of any list. Woohoo! You're in :)
So you've trolled long enough and you're ready to start a list of your own? Great! Say you want to create "why you should wear pants." There are two ways:When you create a list, be sure to make as many sub-directories/slashes as you can. That way, other people can create other related lists like whyyoushould.org/wear/no/pants and whyyoushould.org/wear/pants/today. The more slashes, the better! whyyoushould.org/wearpants is just lame. You aren't lame, are you? :)
- Go to the home page and type "wear pants" into the start-a-new-list box
- Just go directly to whyyoushould.org/wear/pants . You can go to any web-address after whyyoushould.org/ and it'll create the list for you.
Time to start adding your (ridiculous) reasons to your list...or somebody elses' list. If you're already logged in, you'll see "Click here to add your own!" at the bottom of every list. Just click that to reveal a sexy text-box. Type your (hilarious) reason in the box, and click "Save". Done!
First-of-all, why would you ever want to direct people away from this awesome site? Gah! But, if you have your heart set on doing so, just add a reason with some text (the link description) followed by a URL. For example, "My awesome blog http://www.keebler.net". We'll take care of the rest when you refresh ;)
So you're tired of just adding text, and you want to upload some pictures? Not a problem...unless you're uploading goatse; I already went over that at the top of this page! Anyhow, if you have a picture that isn't a guy doing horrible things to his body, you'll see an "upload an image" link at the bottom of a list once it has a few reasons in it (you may have to refresh). Just click that, choose a JPG file on your computer, and upload-away!
Tired of trying to figure out how people are able to upload those YouTube videos? Just add a reason with some text (the description) followed by a YouTube URL. For example, "Box Fort War http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g1q1rNeEgTY". You'll see the video down the right-hand side when you refresh. It's like magic, eh?!
It happens to all of us; you said something you probably shouldn't have. That's why they invented erasers, or in this case, the delete button. When you're logged in, you'll see a button likenext to all your posts. Just click it and you are saved from burning in hell for whatever you said...probably.
Just read or saw something that made you a sad panda? The internet's a scary place sometimes, but you can fight back with the moderation button! When you're logged in, just click thebutton next to the offensive material in question. It'll be moved to the bottom of the page, grayed-out, won't appear on the home page or feeds, and won't be visible to non-members. Want to see everything that's happened here since you last logged in? Of course you do! Just click the "new for you" link at the top of any page (when you're logged in, duh!) and you'll see a list of just the new stuff. You just increased your productivity two-fold! Nice job :)
